Shooting Celebrities
Celebrity photography is challenging and the same time an exciting, glamorous field. When you deal with celebrities, firstly you have very little time to work within. There is always a time constraint even after you pin down a celebrity for a photo session. You have to therefore have good infrastructure and be ready with the necessary equipment. You have to plan the shot and adjust your camera, before asking your celebrity to pose.
photo-journalism
Photojournalism is a different ball game altogether. It is visual storytelling. It has a strong social and cultural context and is a visual form of reportage based on newsy and current affairs topics. Being in the right place at the right time and understanding the situation as it unfolds helps a photojournalist deliver reader interest material. The objective is to usually pick up contemporary topics and portray a visual story that creates an understanding on the pattern in which people live their lives or social changes that impact them in different walks of life. Photojournalism also lends credibility to the written word and can support a public interest story with visual proof. The visuals complement the written reportage on the story.
sports photography
Sports are often thought of as being difficult to photograph because of their quick moving nature. But the seasoned sports photographer has no problem with that.
This photography style is all about trying to capture the scene and the moment. From the winning touchdown pass to catching the expressions in the sidelines, sports photographers have to keep on their toes and always be ready. You never know when the play of the year will happen

wildlife photography
This photography style is dependent on animals. Wildlife photography is all about capturing animals outside of the basic household pet. Many photographers in this field attempt to capture intimate moments in animal life, while allowing the photograph to be as natural as possible.
There's often a debate about whether or not photography that takes place in a zoo falls into this grouping. Some say that zoos are not true places of wildlife, while others say that it is about the wildlife in the zoo and not the setting.

macro photography
Sometimes the smallest of things go unnoticed. But to those with a passion of macro photography, the smallest things are of the most value. Macro work involves taking a picture of something as close as possible. Common macro subjects include coins, flowers and detail work on things like carpets and clothing.
wedding and portrait photography
Both of these photography styles attempts to highlight the best of human life. For a wedding photographer, the goal is to capture all the important moments in the biggest day in another person's life. From the first kiss as a married couple, to the wedding cake itself, it's important to record the day as accurately as possible. Many wedding photographers also do portrait photography of the wedding party and the guest at the wedding.
Portrait photography is a type of photography that focuses on a person or a group of people. It attempts to capture someone in the best light possible. Many people use portrait studios to create prints for holiday cards or to send to family members. The style tries to capture a person at a single moment.

Fashion photography clusters a large amount of different styles together. A good way to think of fashion photography is to think of a women's magazine. All of the photos of clothing and shoes in the ads, to the clothes in the articles fall under fashion. Additionally, all of the pictures in the articles about hair and make-up are fashion photography too. Many women who go into modeling are just as much a part of the style as the clothes and fashions they model.
The style focuses on showcasing something fashionable--whether it be a new dress or a make-up style--in a certain way. Sometimes fashion photos aim to make something beautiful look not so pretty--it's all about the vision of the shoot director and photographer in this photography style

Documentary Photography
Documentary photographs tell stories with images. The main difference between photojournalism and documentary photography is that documentary photography is meant to serve as a historical document of a political or social era while photojournalism documents a particular scene or instance.
A documentary photographer may shoot a series of images of the inner city homeless or chronicle the events of international combat. Any topic may be the subject of documentary photography. As with photojournalism, documentary photography seeks to show the truth without manipulating the image.

Landscape photography
A landscape is a section or portion of scenery as seen from a single viewpoint. Scenery is the subject of a landscape image. Typically, people and animals are not shown in a landscape, unless they are relatively small in the image and have been included in the composition to show scale. Some photographers argue that the sea coast, the city and man-made structures in general should not be included in a landscape, and images that do contain them are more accurately called seascapes or cityscapes. From a purist perspective, they are probably correct, since a landscape is a picture of the land and its aggregate natural features. However, if natural scenery dominates an image, it can probably be accurately termed a landscape, even though there may be a farmhouse in the distance, a city skyline on the horizon or a road or path in the foreground.

astrophotography
Many amateur and professional astronomers have abandoned old fashioned film cameras in favor of new digital technology, and digital cameras can produce some excellent photos of the heavens. One advantage of digital astrophotography is that the CCDs in digital cameras are generally quite sensitive, and of course there is no expensive film to buy. On the downside, digital cameras have a much reduced field of view, and photographers will need to compensate for this reduction.
In order to overcome the challenges of low light conditions in astrophotography, digital photographers rely on a number of techniques and pieces of equipment. Some of the modifications photographers can make to their digital cameras include:
Cryogenic cooling – this cooling will help to reduce thermal noise that could ruin an otherwise good photograph
Biasing
Flat field correction
A good self timer
Manual exposure control
A quality tripod
